Tattoology – The study of tattoos and tattooing

The terms Tattoology (Tattoo’ology) and Tattoo’ologist were actualized by me, Joshua,  in the year 2000, to describe the research and study of the ancient and modern practice of writing on the skin with indelible substances, and everything related to that practice. I began a website www.tattoology.com to begin this project a few years ago.

1. A permanent mark or design made on the skin by a process of pricking and ingraining an indelible pigment.

1. A branch of learning.

1.The scientific study of everything and anything related to tattoos and tattooing.
